Itching to play golf

by rakjan46 @ 18/06/08 - 13:46:21

Its ages since I have touched the local golf courses.
But on a visit to Delhi I stayed in the Asiad village and next to it I went to the Pitch and Putt facility and played.
Next day I went to the driving range and banged balls with the Driver and 7 iron and then next day with the 3 wood and 9 iron.
I got some shots which amazed me as they went long and straight and some balls rolled up to the flag.

I felt I have something in me and may be I could consider this at the age of 57 plus --becoming a better amateur and then may be a pro (I wonder when that will be and at what age)?

Ha! Ha! Ha!

History of wins

I have a history of wins but I HAVE STILL TO FEEL THE DELIGHT OF GETTING A BIG TROPHY.

A few delightful shots.

I remember a few delightful shots.

The iron to the green on the par three 4th hole.

The wedge shot which fell where it was meant to fall and ran straight to the hole.

The chip which went and came to a stop at the foot of the flag.

The punches which went where I wanted.

Who stole my thunder?

I wonder what is going wrong with me.

I was hitting much better and longer and straighter when I had come to Nagpur.

Now my shots fall short of my expectation.

I do not feel good in presence of some people.

I do not get to play that much now.

Hurdles in the way

by rakjan46 @ 14/04/08 - 12:39:17

There are many hurdles in the way of my playing golf.
So sometimes I pick up a club or two and go to the lawn in front and practice a bit of chipping.
This month I must have gone to the AKSC only once or twice.
I was almost the first to arrive and wanted to go ahead and finish nine holes so that I could get home early as the car was required there for some other work.
I was told by someone that now the rules have changed and one has to wait till he gets into a two ball to make a three ball or in to a three ball to make a four ball.
That means those who do not have much time and would like to finish their round fast singly would again be at a disadvantage.

Another rule is supposed to be the one where while playing a round one should not use a second ball or a practice shot after one's shot has not gone the way one wanted it to.
